Hello, My name is Daniel Nehmetallah, I am a Registered Social Worker and trained as Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I hold a Bachelors and Masters degree of Social Work from the University of Windsor. I am truly committed to guiding individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being and personal growth. I have had the privilege of helping many youth and adolescents discover their inner strength and resilience.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, active listening, advocating for social justice and a deep understanding of the unique challenges that life can present. As someone who’s struggled with mental health and navigating life with multiple intersectionalities, I strongly believe that every person possesses the innate capacity for healing and transformation. Through this, I will provide a safe, inclusive and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and concerns.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, system navigation and I tailor my therapeutic techniques to meet your specific needs through an anti-oppressive and trauma informed lens. My particular approaches that I use are cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, somatic therapy, sensorimotor therapy and nervous system regulation.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy working out, drawing, going for walks, shopping and spending time with my family.
Whether you're seeking support for personal growth, navigating a life transition, or coping with difficult emotions, I am here.
I look forward to joining you on your journey.
Daniel and I have been acquainted for a while in the community. Daniel began to reach out to me to learn more about working with trauma in the youth population and trainings/ continuing education recommendations. Daniel saw a need for working with the whole person and not just the presenting problems, wanting to go deeper than basic talk therapy techniques using the mind, body and nervous system in his practice. I admire Daniel's lived experience, compassion, patience and curiosity he brings to the therapy room and his dedication to continuous learning.
