My name is Hailey Kennedy and I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist.
Sessions with me take on a more eclectic and experiential approach, drawing from different modalities to ensure a safe space conducive for growth and trauma work. My emphasis on feeling to heal, regulating the nervous system, and giving ourselves permission to unburden our stuck pain will drive our sessions together.
Using my training in Polyvagal Somatic Therapy, I am able to keep you present and safe in the physical, emotional, and mental planes while we explore what healing means for you. This Emotion-Focused Therapy will carry as an undertone throughout all of our sessions . I also pull from core value work like ACT, parts work & inner child healing using Internal Family Systems, and trauma-informed EMDR.
My background in CBT and DBT for eating disorders has allowed me to explore deeper into the role of trauma and core associations we often don't realize are linked, buried, and unresolved.
I specialize in those who find themselves in their head more than their body. Those who over-think, intellectualize, or people-please. Survivors of emotionally immature parents, those who feel caught or lost in the cog of life, pushing along to be the best and do the best, yet deep down crave to stand against it.
Those who are overly self-critical, self-sabotaging, and self-questioning. We are the ones who often take it out on ourselves because we can handle it right? Until our bodies show us we can't.
Hailey and I connected online and the more I got to know about her approach to therapy , the more I knew she would be an ideal fit for the clientele we serve at Mindfully Me. Hailey understands that a lot of us seem to have our sh*t together. We go to work, we hold relationships, we show up when needed but at times, we feel like we are just getting by inside. Hailey understands how stress, trauma and adversity live within our bodies and souls and a lot of us live within our head to protect us... but that only works for so long. Hailey's emphasis on body focused modalities, EMDR and her pull towards relational therapy is something I admire, look out for and respect in a clinician. Please join me in welcoming Hailey to the team :)
