Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you've spent years believing you need to figure things out on your own. I strive to create a space where you can be honest without fear of judgment, a place where you can explore difficult emotions, understand long standing patterns, and build a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I believe our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours often develop as adaptive responses to our experiences, and together we'll work to understand the function these patterns have served while creating ways to navigate life that feel more attuned to you.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I aim to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and self-compassion. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, somatic interventions, and parts work. Therapy is never one-size-fits-all, so I tailor each session to your unique goals, strengths, and experiences.
I work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and low self-esteem. I also have a special interest in supporting men who feel stuck in cycles of compulsive or unwanted sexual behaviours, shame, intimacy concerns, or difficulty building meaningful relationships. Together, we explore these concerns with curiosity rather than judgment, helping you understand the underlying emotional needs driving these behaviours while developing healthier ways to cope, connect, and live in alignment with your values.
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood and empowered to create meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're navigating a specific challenge or simply feeling disconnected from the person you want to be, I'd be honored to support you on your journey.
I have known Domonique for over 14 years! We attended the same high school and both did similar community mental health related focused work prior to private practice. (Something I admire about those in Private practice is lots of experience outside the 4 walls of a clinic).
Domonique's work ethic, experience in various domains/environments and her passion for this work is what I had always admired about Domonique. Domonique and I have also shared the same experience working at Youth Diversion together as the YJ program manager - a position that provides exceptional experience of looking at "behaviours" and "choices" with so much curiosity. Domonique's ability to lead a team, maintain different roles and lead with compassion is a skill set I admire. Her professionalism, kindness, compassion and ability to gently bring awareness to patterns to foster growth is what catches my eye in a therapist.
Additionally, Domonique enjoys working with males experiencing intimacy concerns, shame, unwanted sexual compulsions and attachment focused issues. I believe it is so important to explore the way society's expectations, messaging, porn and media has shaped men and women in the context self worth, validation and relationships concerns. A very underserved area of mental health is sexual health and I believe a safe, collaborative, judgement free space to explore this is so important.
Please welcome me in welcoming Dom to the Mindfully Me Team!
