Hey my name is Kennedy!
I wanted to start by thanking you for being here :)
I know taking the first step can be sometimes scary or daunting but I’m here to help! I am a therapist who is in therapy, as I believe it holds many benefits, but I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I believe in a human first approach to care that leads with compassion and curiosity.
My journey into the mental health field started by graduating with a child and youth practitioner advanced diploma and shortly after realized my love for helping, I pursued by Bachelor degree in psychology. From there, that lead me to get my masters in counselling and psychotherapy (qualifying).
I am also currently enrolled in the certified clinical trauma specialist individual certification, I have a strong belief that competent psychotherapy comes from a full mind and body approach. This is where I blend my love for fitness and movement and trauma informed principals. I am a certified fitness coach and have my certification in nutrition. In my downtime, I absolutely love all things health and wellness.
I have a particular interest in working with those experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, anxiety, depression and assisting those with emotional regulation.
My goal as a therapist is to use a holistic and eclectic approach that is personalized to meet each of your unique individual needs. By integrating trauma informed care and other modalities such as parts work, somatic work, mind and body connection, cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy, my goal is to provide you with a safe and welcoming space to share your story.
Please feel free to reach out and email me with any questions you may have!
Thank you for taking the time to read about me, I’m so happy you’re here.
I attended both grade school and highschool with Kennedy, I have watched Kennedy grow and develop into the professional she is. Kennedy caught my eye for years with her approach to fitness specializing in mental performance and mindset work. As Kennedy became more interested in learning about trauma and working with trauma, she reached out to me and we started chatting back and fourth about resources, training and learnings. Kennedy absolutely dove right in, something I admire greatly with professionals- the love for learning and never stopping. Kennedy obtained her fitness and nutrition certification prior to her psychotherapy journey, two things I pair with my approach to mental health and well-being.
Kennedy finished her Masters and connected with me, after a few meetings with Kennedy and her diverse experience of emergency room crisis intervention and experience working with families and youth in an out-patient setting, I knew she would be an asset to bring to the team.
I am excited and delighted to bring a practitioner to the team confident and competent in working with eating disorders- something that is often misunderstood and underserved in the psychotherapy world. I have no doubt Kennedy will be an asset on your wellness journey.
Welcome Kennedy!
